Electric mobility
The QualiBattBW project, which is currently being funded by the federal government, offers companies and skilled workers the opportunity to acquire knowledge about batteries - from cell development to recycling. Since April this year, 100 participants have already taken part in the project's free qualification modules in the field of battery production. A further 11 units can still be booked this year.
The high demand for the training units in the QualiBattBW project shows that companies and employees have recognised the need for training in the changing automotive industry. With the increase in German value creation in vehicle batteries, the number of jobs and the need for skilled workers will increase significantly within a few years. Building on the solid basic qualifications of German skilled workers, long-term jobs in the field of battery production can be created through further and advanced training.
This is where the QualiBattBW project, funded by the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Action (BMWK), comes in. Based on a detailed needs analysis of the industry, it has developed learning units that cover the entire value chain of the battery ecosystem. A total of seven research institutions are involved in the project, including Fraunhofer IAO, Fraunhofer IPA, the University of Stuttgart, Heilbronn University of Applied Sciences and Ulm University of Applied Sciences, two educational institutions and the Cluster Electric Mobility South-West. Interested parties can now visit the designed units free of charge.
By the end of 2024, participants will have access to 11 additional learning units from the following modules:
There are no prerequisites for participation; useful prior knowledge for the individual units is described for each learning unit. Close cooperation with research institutions and training providers involved in the project ensures that the latest scientific content is delivered in a clear and practical way.
The aim of the project, which will run until March 2028, is to sustainably strengthen Baden-Württemberg and Germany as a business location by networking the players and building up an excellent and sufficiently large base of skilled workers and a high level of technological expertise along the battery value chain.
