The delegation focusing on the automotive industry will be visiting the Stuttgart Region from 17 - 19 March 2025 to discuss the future of the automotive industry and in particular the impact of the transformation on suppliers. Leading British and Baden-Württemberg companies, innovators and start-ups will use this opportunity to engage in dialogue, explore economic relationships and drive innovation.

The delegation trip is organised by the Baden-Württemberg Ministry of Economic Affairs, Labour and Tourism and Baden-Württemberg International (BW_i) in cooperation with the state agency e-mobil BW and the British Department for Business and Trade (DBT).

The state agency e-mobil BW is accompanying the delegation trip to represent the perspective of the automotive industry in Baden-Württemberg and to categorise the significance of the transformation in this country for British companies. The state agency is also specifically promoting dialogue between the two countries by bringing together various companies and research institutions from Baden-Württemberg with the delegation participants at the events via its cluster networks.

18 companies are expected from the UK. The delegation will visit ARENA 2036 in Stuttgart and the Cyber Valley site at Campus Vaihingen. The participants will also gain insights into the Bosch branch in Feuerbach.

Networking-Event as a Highlight

On Tuesday, 18 March 2025, the delegation came together at the Literaturhaus Stuttgart for a networking event hosted by State Secretary Dr Patrick Rapp, UK Consul General Mark Dittmer-Odell and Franz Loogen, Managing Director of e-mobil BW. The evening event was all about networking and creating synergies. In addition to the delegation participants, companies and research institutions from Baden-Württemberg were also invited. In particular, the battery technology, artificial intelligence, hydrogen drives, sensor technology and semiconductor industries were represented. After a welcoming address by State Secretary Dr Patrick Rapp, Franz Loogen gave a keynote speech on the ‘Automotive Ecosystem in BW’ and the current potential of the industry. The event provided an excellent opportunity to engage in dialogue with leading British automotive suppliers and industry stakeholders, promote cooperation and drive innovation through exchange.
